The Philadelphia Academy of School Leaders is Pleased to Share our 2024 Annual Report.

This past year has been filled with inspiring achievements and milestones. From adopting a 2024 – 2027 Strategic Plan, redesigning our Neubauer Fellowship Leadership Competencies, and creating our new Coaching Blueprint, we have worked together to ensure that our Fellowship, Senior Fellows, and foundational programming are aligned to ensure every student in Philadelphia can succeed. As we head into a new year, we are thrilled to share our 2023-24 Annual Report, highlighting the work PASL has achieved in the past year.

PASL’s mission is clear: to strengthen Philadelphia’s K-12 education system by equipping school and system leaders with research-based tools and strategies that improve outcomes for all students. We work to cultivate leadership and management skills in Philadelphia K-12 leaders, enabling them to allocate scare resources—time, budget, personnel—to their highest and best use, enhancing student achievement and teacher satisfaction, in pursuit of educational excellence for every child in Philadelphia. “The Fellowship offers unique, hands-on learning experiences that go far beyond traditional professional development. Immersing myself in this opportunity has given me new perspectives on systemic challenges, allowed me to collaborate with like-minded leaders, and helped me refine strategies to drive sustainable improvement within my school.”
Nichole Polk, Principal at Potter-Thomas School, 2023 Neubauer Fellow (Cohort 7); Senior Fellow (2024)

This work would not have been possible without the generous support of the PASL community. Our program partners build the foundation that enables PASL to create high-quality, research-based programming. You have attended our events, shared your expertise, partnered in our programming, and brought your fullest self to cultivating excellence in Philadelphia school and system leaders.

Together with our partners and Fellows, we are making an impact. Our research shows that schools led by participants in our flagship program, the Neubauer Fellowship in Educational Leadership report better attendance, higher academic growth as evidenced by standardized test scores, and improvements in school culture and community as evidenced by student and staff perception ratings. This community has incredible reach; over 92,000 Philadelphia K-12 students—47% of all Philadelphia K-12 students—have directly or indirectly benefitted from school and system educational leaders who have participated in PASL programs.

Our Annual Report is not just a reflection of PASL’s impact; it is a reflection of the work we have done together. Thank you.
