The Leaders of Leaders Program is designed to support school system leaders who supervise and develop principals. In the past, this program was limited to alumni of the Neubauer Fellowship in Educational Leadership (Senior Fellows) who served in executive-level roles in district, charter, or faith-based systems. This year, participants also include principal supervisors in Independence Mission Schools and New Foundations Charter School.

The 2022-2023 Leaders of Leaders program is designed to achieve the following goals:

  • Develop principal supervisors to:
    • Build principal capacity to improve practice and increase student outcomes
    • Develop the systems, structures, and conditions that support principal success across the principal network
    • Serve as executive leaders who advocate for principals based on individual and collective needs in order to influence system-level decisions, policies, and practices to increase student outcomes
  • Increase clarity, consistency, and coherence across networks/principal supervisors
  • Apply the National Principal Supervisor Professional Standards—assess practice against national standards, identify areas of growth, and develop plan to improve
  • Share promising practices and tools (nationally and across colleagues)
  • Provide feedback and strategies to address real-time professional challenges

The Leaders of Leaders program includes:

  • Capacity-building sessions focused on strengthening principal supervisor practice and developing tools, systems, and structures to accelerate principal growth
  • Individualized executive coaching to improve practice
  • In-the-field peer observations to share promising practices and feedback among colleagues
