Supporting Students in Challenging Times

30 Apr Supporting Students in Challenging Times

Neubauer Fellows work extremely hard to find new ways to support their students! The Philadelphia Inquirer published an article highlighting 2019 Fellow Pauline Cheung (Francis Scott Key School) and 2018 Fellows Stephanie Andrewlevich (Mitchell Elementary School) and Connie Carnivale (H.A. Brown Academic Plus School) for their creative solutions. Fellows go grocery shopping, distribute computers and food, connect families to resources, and design innovative virtual learning strategies to support the students, families, and communities they serve.  Their efforts remind students and families that they are not alone, even during the coronavirus pandemic.  “Our schools are not closed. The buildings are,” said Cheung. “I feel that we have to be open more than ever.”
